The New Color of HP Labs

Is a bright cyan!

Today, HP Labs got it's own logo and as a color science type I immediately noted the use of a little color in the logo. The familiar rounded 'book ends' that surround the central labs to the power of hp are not white but instead are a bright cyan. This is new logo was unveiled as part of a huge HP labs demo event held in Palo Alto. This demo included showcasing the HP IdeaLab web site. And one component in the Idea Lab web site is a color area. Hooray!

The set-up and organization was massive and included lots of hardware, displays, signage, posters, stylish chairs and busy people messing around with cables, laptops, lighting and so on.

For the color thesaurus and interactive color zeitgeist, I plugged the power and network cables in and that was that. Even with the mix of lighting it's just easy peasy. Web demos are great...

Bright Cyan? Really...?

"Input text of "bright cyan" was not found. Using "light cyan" instead."

Believe it or not I don't use the color thesaurus for all of my color naming needs ;) In this case I went with bright cyan but yes I suppose light cyan is a good 'match'.
