New podcast: Graduate Entrepreneurship Training through IT (GET-IT)

Published 15 February 2008, 05:27 AM

We have just launched a podcast about our flagship programme “Graduate Entrepreneurship Training through IT” (GET-IT) and I invite you to listen to it to get an idea about this programme which we rolled out in May last year.

Let me also take this opportunity to give you an update on what has happened since the launch:
- Since May 2007 we have opened 35 centres in 19 countries to train approx 6000 students.
- We are partnering with 28 non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Until now we have offered 3 trainings for trainers through the Micro-enterprise Acceleration – Initiative (MEA-I) in Africa, Europe and Russia
- We engaged in a cooperation with JA-YE. The project is designed to provide IT enhancement to JA-YE’s Company Programme and Graduate Programme for secondary and post-secondary schools respectively. The focus is on bridging business and technology training needs by teaching IT requirements in operations, finance, marketing, communications, etc.

Our plans for this year are to open 35 new GET-IT centres and enlarge the network of partner NGOs to 70 in 27 countries overall. Clearly we will also offer the T-Tools guidance courses and will equip those centers with innovative mobile technology.

If you are interested in becoming part of the GET-IT network, as a training organisation, a trainer or a student, please find out more on our website: http://www.graduate-training-through-it.net/.
