Jim Lyons, who writes the monthly “Observations” column for Lyra’s “Hard Copy Observer” newsletter, blogged about the announcement today.
Jim – the products are very important to us and we will continue to keep innovating!
During the customer panel I previously wrote about, it was great to hear how our customers are not only taking advantage of the features and benefits provided by our LaserJet printers and MFPs, but are seeing new ways to improve paper-based workflows.
And the customers are putting new capabilities into the hands of their users – Charles Page of Imperial College in the UK relayed the story of a fantastic, but unintended benefit of the new devices, services and software that the university acquired as part of its Managed Print Services contract. Prior to the Easter holiday break, Charles noticed that students were using the scan-to-email functionality of the HP MFPs to avoid taking books and worksheets home. Instead of lugging a pile of papers or a backpack full of books, students would scan the pertinent sections or documents to email and view them on their own time. Indeed, some of the best ideas are often the unintentional ones.
