Glad to be home after a two week
whirlwind of travel and meetings with enterprise customers and industry
watchers in Budapest and Shanghai. The two events were awesome and the
meetings I had with customers left me motivated to do more. We see so many
opportunities for enterprise customers to save money and improve their business
processes, just by assessing their imaging and printing environment. IT
departments around the world are resource constrained and often prioritize
other aspects of their IT environment over printing. That’s why Bruce Dahlgren,
senior vice president of HP’s Global Enterprise Business has said, time and
again, “IT managers consider printers the plankton of the IT food chain.”
Speaking of Bruce, check out his
keynote from the Shanghai
event on “Building
an Enterprise 2.0 Plan.”
When we sit down with customers and
talk to them about beginning the process of building a Print 2.0 plan, we see
the light bulbs go off. We saw that in spades with 3M. Take a look at their case
study to see what a difference managing their imaging and printing
infrastructure and environment has made to them. They share some great
statistics about savings, and that’s money that can either go straight to the
bottom line or in support of the overall business strategy.
I don’t know “where in the world”
I’ll be writing from next, but I’m definitely starting to get the hang of
blogging from the road. I’d love to hear what you think of our new “Alternative Thinking About
Printing” marketing campaign.
