Congratulations. Very interesting mix of traditional media companies; manufacturing and consumer products on the list. Is the role of corporate blogger as thought leader or as a window into the company giving insights not readily available elsewhere? IDC's blog seems to bridge the gap across both missions.

I think that the role of a corporate blogger is primarily to connect with the company's customers and other key stakeholders. He is also a thought leader and provides insights into the company that are not available elsewhere. Frank at IDC does a great job in that respect. Eric

My company are looking at adding a closed community blog site for registered guests at our own Face2Face CxO networking events. My Research Manager (and Son) Tony is experimenting with Blogging - http://lexusnova.blogspot.com.Do HP use a similar strategy and what are your experiences? Oh! By Gladwell's definition I am a connector - https://www.linkedin.com/in/amacltd

Alan- All the blogs on HP.com are open for public consumption. We have not embedded any within closed communities. The only blogs we do host with restricted access are those dedicated to HP's employees. We find that blogs offer a great medium for engineers and others to share information inside the company. Those are the only blogs we host with any restricted access. Eric
