Many companies are considering bringing search marketing in house, whether it be to manage strategy and vendors or managing the campaigns in their entirety. One factor in making this decision is what to pay different levels of SEO and SEM search marketing professionals to ensure you get the best candidate. Since SEO and SEM are relatively new professions, it's a little more challenging to understand the market value of these professionals.
SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization) recently launched an In-House Salary Survey targeting this exact question. If you are an in-house search marketing professional, you may be interested in taking this survey and seeing the results. You do not need to be a SEMPO member as the intention is to get as much feedback from the industry as possible in order to provide relevant analysis. As a bonus if you complete the survey, you'll be provided with the results once they are tallied and analyzed.
